UNICEF is continuing its work with the most vulnerable Syrian refugee populations and Iraqi internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Iraq, with particular attention to the northern regions of the country which have faced continued violence from both nearby Syria as well as the Islamic State. UNICEF is one of the few agencies on the ground right now in Iraq where children are most impacted by the current crisis.
