A massive fire tore through the cathedral of Notre Dame in the heart of Paris on Monday, April 15. The roof and spire of the centuries-old landmark were consumed before the flames were put out in a 12-hour battle.French president Emmanuel Macron has pledged to rebuild the cathedral that he called "a part of us" and appealed for help to do so. Friends of Notre-Dame is a nonprofit charity dedidated to the restoration of the iconic cathedral, which was already undergoing renovations and is now in need of massive rebuilding following the fire.
