Join the IRC for International Women's Day/Women's History Month

par INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMITTEE INC

Women's rights are human rights. The IRC is working to break down barriers for women and girls and ensure gender equality is a cornerstone of all our programs. We prioritize help for the most vulnerable and, in 1996, we were the first humanitarian aid group to develop an international aid team dedicated to preventing violence against women and girls.

Every year, we recognize, celebrate, and uplift women changemakers who lead their communities even in the most challenging of contexts. This year’s theme for International Women’s Day/Women's History Month is “IN HER WORDS” - through this campaign, our goal is to put the pen in women’s hands so that they can control their own narratives.

Now, we are leading a mission to end gender inequality in the world’s most dangerous places. We are improving access to health centers and giving more women and girls the care they desperately need. IRC develops new projects that support adolescent girls to stay in school and realize their potential. We are supporting more women with economic empowerment and cash assistance in emergencies, and finding new ways to involve and empower women and girls. We are also changing harmful gender norms to create more equal communities.

We are also addressing inequalities within our own organization and have created a Gender Action Plan that outlines our goals, plan, and expected outcomes.

At the IRC, we’re committed to fighting for a world where women can stand up, be heard, and choose their own futures. Are you? Then join us for Women's History Month in elevating women’s voices and standing with them as they control their own narratives.

Your gift allows us to deliver comprehensive help to people around the world. This gift will be used where and when most needed.
