Akhuwat is an initiative that aims at taking the exemplary success of Akhuwat interest-free microlending model, founded in 2001 with only $100 is now the world’s largest interest-free micro-lending organization. With a portfolio of over $675m, the organization has provided over 4.3m loans provided to date with an exceptional recovery rate of 99%.

The most important gap for hundreds of millions of talented, educated, hardworking, willing and able to work people is access to opportunities. Generation after generation, underprivileged and marginalized segments of most societies find it impossible to get out of the vicious cycle of poverty.
