In early September, heavy rains in Sudan caused record-breaking flooding. Recent reports show the floods have killed nearly 100 people and have submerged thousands of homes. Meanwhile, Sudan continues to wrestle with rampant economic stagflation, uneasy politics, bubbling ethnic tensions, and COVID-19.
